CLEARING UP THE FOG ON AMERICAN NATIONAL HEALTHCARE

The Obama Administration is once again pushing a “Crisis” mode.  The American Government is not satisfied with the unprecedented control they already have and now want to take over the Health Industry.  The  following blog of   Dr. Chuck McGowen will explain clearly why National Healthcare would be a tragic mistake for the nation of America.

A Physician’s Perspective on The Issues of National Healthcare #1
By Dr. Chuck McGowen

Introduction

For the next several months I am going to set aside my usual discussions concerning Intelligent Design, stem cell research and other scientific matters of interest and focus instead on my perspective concerning four main areas of concern regarding the current administration’s allegations that there is a need for a single payer, national healthcare system, known in other countries as “socialized medicine.”

I will first address the putative 45 million Americans who for one reason or another are uninsured when it comes to healthcare coverage. The reader will be greatly surprised when we examine the demographics of that diverse group of citizens. Next I will devote several essays to the physician’s perspective on the forces that are currently driving up the cost of healthcare to unaffordable levels. You will discover that the initial culprit in this upward spiral began 44 years ago with the institution of Medicare during the Johnson administration in 1965. Following that event, in a strictly bi-partisan manner, the Nixon administration brought managed care into the mix, allegedly to control those spiraling costs. Equally to blame in the generation of expensive healthcare is the collegial relationship that has developed between litigious minded citizens and lawyers whose law suits have raised malpractice premiums to enormous levels.

Next in line to be discussed will be the real agenda behind the actions of those who desire us to be just one more nation that has the practice of medicine under the control of a centralized government bureaucracy and the devastating effects that such a centralized control over your health and mine could foster. Finally, having addressed and defined the problem, I will offer the solution to each one of those areas of concern; exorbitant malpractice fees, the out of control healthcare costs, an alternative to national healthcare and a means to treat the working poor and indigent who fill the rolls of the uninsured. The means to rectify these problems and provide the reasonable solutions is found in the sovereignty of each of the 50 states and the protection which the 10th amendment to the Constitution provides and that is where the effort should begin.
